As the tenth anniversary of the writing of this book approaches, I want to thank all of those who have contributed to the awareness of this book in the pool and billiard community. In particular, I would like to thank Bert Kinister, David Sapolis and Pat Fleming, all true ambassadors of the game and significant contributors to the transfer of knowledge of this captivating endeavor. I also want to recognize my good friend, Chris "Cass", who lost his courageous battle with cancer shortly after the initial publication of Black Belt Billiards. The former BCA Instructor designations have recently been re-branded as the Professional Billiard Instructors Association (PBIA), of which I am a continuing member. While the tenets and lessons of the martial arts will remain with me forever, I no longer consider myself an active practitioner. My enthusiasm for the "Tao of the Spheres" has not diminished, however my time at the table is now primarily limited to the winter months. Since the writing of Black Belt Billiards, I have met a lot of great people, become an avid cyclist, taken up the drums and am trying to learn how to country and western dance. However, I do not see the publication of Black Belt Dancing in this author's future. Best wishes to all and remember - Life is a journey not a destination - Enjoy the Journey. |
